GROUP OBJECTIVES FOR 2012
Group Mission Statement.
To promote Walsall Group and hence the Ramblers Association as being significantly more that just another general walking club and utilise the benefits of this nationally and locally to both expand the influence of the Ramblers Association and develop the Group itself.
Goals.
1/. Membership of the Group.
Seek proactive ways in which the membership of the Group can be permanently expanded – with a view to offering more facilities within the Group whilst gaining more resources to help further the Group/RA’s aims.
2/.Walks Programme.
Imaginatively develop the current Walks Programmes to both maintain their appeal to current members whilst also attracting members from other sources. Be prepared to take calculated risks on occasions to encourage new leaders, venues and durations of walks, consistent with safety and membership demand.
3/. Publicity.
Strive to keep the public face of the Group as visible as possible within the local Borough and elsewhere so that both the RA and the Group’ aims are respected and appreciated by as wide an audience as possible.
4/. Rights of Way, Access and Countryside Issues.
Continually monitor the footpaths, bridleways and other access provisions within the Walsall Borough, whilst seeking to actively be involved in resolving issues impacting on these or the local countryside generally. Deploy Group volunteers to act directly in resolving issues as appropriate and with the support of responsible third parties.
5/. Social Activities.
Provide and develop as wide a social calendar throughout the year as possible, both in response to membership demand and other appropriate initiatives to build cohesion and support within the Group.
